A Pair Of 17th Century Oak Backstools
A exceptional pair of 17th century oak backstools, originating from the Yorkshire/Derbyshire area. Decorated with split turnings and carved scalloped back supports and having scrolled finials this true pair of backstools are great examples of their type.
An identical example of this pair of chairs can be found in “Early British Chairs and Seats 1500-1700 by Tobias Jellinek.” The example on page 303 plate 420 is a chair in the Aston Hall Collection.
