A 17th Century Oak Coffer.
£1,150.00
Description
A good transitional oak coffer, combining the earlier planked construction with the more sophisticated panelled method for the front. Top rail carved with interlocking lunettes, three crisply carved panels and framing decorated with scratch mouldings and punch work. The planked lid is a single piece of well patinated oak.
Excellent colour and condition throughout, having just later hinges and a small repair to the mould on the lid.
