Description
A 17th Century Court Cupboard dated 1687 and initialed RM BM. This cupboard has a carved central interlaced panel, flanked by doors decorated with a carved roundell. The drawer and side rails are carved with lunettes, the legs are channel moulded, leading to a potboard. Various regional differences have led to cupboards of this type been called, Open Court Cupboards, Buffets or Livery Cupboards.
A good example but with some restoration, top boards and molds are Victorian replacements.
