Rare Early 17th Century Oak Inlaid Armchair
A rare early 17th century oak inlaid Leeds armchair initialed I.O and dated 1626.
A superb example of early craftsmanship showcasing techniques used to create such striking pieces of furniture of the period.
Sitting low on its stretchers this chair has lost some of its original height over its lifetime but what does remain are traces of original bog oak inlay . This together with the remaining inlay pattern tells a story of a chair of great importance.
